YOCA Youth Theatre
YOCA’s youth theatre has been running from March 2007 and was initially funded by the Local Network Funds, but we have recently received funding for a year from The Jack Petchey Foundation and thus we are planning an expansion to our groups to include:
Primary Youth Theatre group — 7 – 11 year olds
Young Actors Company — 18 - 25 year olds
Both starting in October 2008
Current Youth Theatre group members are aged 12-17 and performed in Newham Big Up Your Arts Festival 2007. Currently rehearsing Midsummer Night Scream—musical adaptation of Midsummer Night Dream.
'What You Chatting About'
This is a touring production with accompanying workshops addressing the issues of gun, gang and knife crime. Featuring established TV, Theatre, film and Radio artists a wealth of experience can brought to young people in a peer led method. Download the Poster Front & the Poster Back.
'Bully of the Jungle'
A touring show using Jungle Book characters to engage Key Stage 1 and 2 highlighting issues around Bullying. Followed with hour long workshops delivered by the performers.
Performed, stage managed and designed by year 10 students from Little Ilford School on work experience.

'PASS ME THE ZOOT'
Cannabis awareness project based in Newham. A forum theatre touring piece performed and delivered by 17 year old actors from our Youth Theatre Group. Performed in various locations across Newham including Newham Young Offenders Institute, Little Ilford Youth Centre and Forest Gate Youth Centre. Funded by Newham Substance Misuse Partnership Board.

P.S.H.E Performances to address Sex Education/ Drugs Education and Peer Pressure.
